Hello everyone. I am back today with a post to show you how to get your boat ready for summer boating season. At the beginning of boat season, I like to clean up the boat in preparation of the upcoming summer fun on the lake.
With all the rain we’ve had this Spring, I have gotten a late start on getting everything cleaned up. Seemed like every time I started, it was always raining. But over this past weekend, I did manage to get it cleaned and ready to go.
I have used several different kinds of cleaners throughout the years and all have worked fairly well; however the (affiliate link) Hot Sauce Hard Water Spot Remover is hands down my favorite exterior boat cleaner. It wipes away all dirt, pollen, and water spots that have accumulated over the winter months and leaves a quality shine. Even if you don’t have a boat, it is a good cleaner for other types of watercraft, autos, RV’s, campers, motorcycles, ATV’s and more. This also eliminates the need for waxing. Plus it is biodegradable and environmentally safe.
I use the hard water spot remover on the exterior of the boat. It removes all the dirt, pollen, and spots that have accumulated over the winter months.
Here is a before and after of the motor. With all the dirt, dust and I think bird poo.
And here is the after
And for the interior, I use the (affiliate link) Vinyl Sauce Detailing Product
This cleaner removes dirt, sunscreen, suntan oils, and mildew from your seats. It is safe to use on vinyl, leather, plastic and it even removes stains from carpeted areas. Just like the Hot Sauce, this can be used on RV’s, campers, motorcycles, ATV’s and more. I even use this to clean the inside of my SUV.
Here are some interior pictures of the before. Keep in mind, we keep our boat docked at the marina, in a covered boat slip, with a cover on the boat and you still end up with dirt and gunk on your seats.
And here are the after pictures
All sparkly clean now. Ready for some fun.
For those of you that are interested, we keep our boat at Laurel Marina & Yacht Club on South Holston Lake near Bristol. Tennessee. You can read more about the marina here.
South Holston Lake is near the cities of Abingdon, Virginia and Bristol, VA/TN.
Here are some more pics of the lake over the past weekend.
If you want to read more about the lake. You can check it out here. This is a beautiful and peaceful area with many things to do.
I will be doing another post next week about things to do in this area. I will be highlighting the areas surrounding the lake; Abingdon, VA and Bristol, VA/TN. So come back for that.
There are several activities and events throughout the year that would make for a great vacation getaway.
