Hey everyone. Do you and your family enjoy s’mores? I know we do, but sometimes you just don’t have access to an outdoor campfire for this chocolaty, gooey goodness.
Well, you are in luck today, I have a super easy 5 ingredient indoor s’mores recipe that you bake in the oven.
Plus with July 4th just a few days away, I thought this would make a great treat for your holiday celebrations.
First, here are the ingredients you will need for this dessert. Sugar cookie mix, graham crackers, chocolate chip morsels, miniature marshmallows and butter.
In large bowl mix the pouch of sugar cookie mix and 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs. I had graham crackers on hand so I used those instead of the graham cracker crumbs that come already prepared.
Stir in 1 cup melted butter (which is actually two sticks of butter) until soft dough forms.
Press the mixture into an ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until set at 375 degrees.
Immediately sprinkle 3 cups of milk chocolate chips over the crust. To get the 3 cups, I used almost 2 bags of the Nestle Milk Chocolate Morsels 11.5 oz bag.
Let stand 3 to 5 minutes or until chocolate begins to melt. Use a butter knife to spread chocolate evenly over crust.
Next, set your oven to broil. Sprinkle 4 1/2 cups of miniature marshmallows over melted chocolate. I used one 10 oz.bag of miniature marshmallows.
Broil the bars approximately 5 to 6 inches from the heat for 20 to 30 seconds or until marshmallows are toasted. I set my oven to the low setting on broil and just watched them until I got the desired toasting I wanted.
Cool 10 minutes before cutting into bars. Serve warm. Makes about 24 bars.
This recipe is from the Betty Crocker Sheet Pan Desserts book. I don’t have the book; however, you can read more about it here.
There you have it. Five simple ingredients to make s’mores indoors….anytime.
Hope you enjoy……Happy July 4th!
